This time of year sees us feature our FastTRACK® software for plate (including remnant) management. FastTRACK® will make Stocktake a matter of reconciliation, not measurement.

FastTRACK® isn't just for stocktake. Once in place you can use the system to track remnants for processed plate and link into the FastNEST® system for production. FastTRACK® will instantly search your database for all remnant types that match the given specification for material and thickness and display all matches for processing.

Gas Axe is in the final stages of testing. Obvious benefits are improved productivity however a major benefit is with regard to Occupational Health and Safety.

Gas Axe provides a simple way to cut up remnant with the machine. The gas axe movements are all straight lines and connect entities. If a part is moved slightly, the gas axe will stay connected. They are saved and recalled with the nest.

For applying 100 gas axe cuts in a pattern so that, for example, remnant can be thrown in the scrap bin, you can use the GRID pattern as shown in the example. Individual gas axe movements can be added or removed at any time. When finished, the machine is instructed to go to the /HOME/ position, stop, request the removal of parts and then break up the skeleton.

This first avi shows some of the functionality. If you have questions about this technology, please email us.

FastTRACK® Software
TRACK, INDENTIFY, RECORD, COST, OPTIMISE, FIND, LOCATE.. Manage all of your plate stock, including shapes. Each plate has a unique ID number. You have an immediate stock report by material, grade, thickness, value and shape. The system automatically calculates Area, Weight, and Cost. The system stores all critical data such as the heat treatment number, mill plate number, order number, plate size and supplier.

At a cost of US$1,995.00 it's easily justified!
If you have any questions please email us.

We're currently expanding our modular quotation system to allow for everything a service center handles, not just burning. For example, slitting, reinforcing, complex developments (FastSHAPES), along with special processes (bending, shot blasting, painting,...). The move from a burning-based quotation system to an all encompassing one has bought about a name change. We apologize if the branding transition from FastCAM® Quoter to FastCAM® QE(TM) causes confusion.

New features currently available in v3.8.3 are as follows:
1 - Users now have the ability to select the number of quotes to choose from when opening a quote. This dramatically increases the speed when attempting to open a quote.

2 - Database Managers now have the ability to alter the GROUP (Manager, Estimator, Browser) that a USER belongs to (this was not possible before). This can now be done using a Utility in the program.

If you're interested in quoter technology please email us.

FastCAM® QE(TM) will soon be able to link in to our new Database version of FastTRACK®, allowing the users to quote on a Remnant plate that they have in stock; closing the loop between the two programs.

The Bridge cutting function is included in FastCAM. Known as bridging it uses less piercing meaning dramatic savings in cutting time and material. We had one customer do an entire (one small part) sheet with one pierce! In the nest he had worked his way top down, down the outside and up. Impressive! He claimed that the extra time spent on the nest was well worth it.

We visit sites where customers say they are reluctant to use bridging because it might damage the material and yes, it is true that you wouldn't use it in every instance and you would always need to do a trial cut to see that you would get a clean part. However in the right application there are big savings.

If you're interested in learning the FastCAM Bridging feature it is included in our User Manual however please email us for a free video tutorial.

FastCAM have released our first post for the Italian CR Electronic machines which means that FastCAM customers can now add a CR machine to their business and rely on FastCAM to support it!

CR Electronic produce a wide range of profile equipment but focus on excellent high definition plasma cutting machines. The FastCAM interface allows third party programming of this high quality European equipment. FastCAM's simple interface allows fully automatic connection using the true CR Electronic format for optimal performance.

In Australia, FastCAM work closely with both CR Electronic and their Australian Agents, Westgate High Technology. Westgate are also the Australian agent for Hypertherm Plasma systems and consumables.

We're interested in hearing from customers and resellers! If you have news or can suggest a topic that you think will be of interest to our reader base or if you have a fabrication problem to solve, we invite you to email us!
