FastNEST®

FastNEST® is designed to automatically or interactively place two dimensional (2D) shapes in a optimal pattern (nesting) suitable for cutting via a variety of processes, primarily oxy-fuel, plasma, laser and water-jet cutting equipment. FastNEST® is usually bundled or included as part of the FastCAM® System however it is available separately.

The nesting algorithm is designed to optimise both the material usage and the sequence of cutting. Parts can be nested automatically or manually placed for maximum Productvity.

FastNEST® can nest a variety of file formats including: NC code, FastCAM-CAM format, DXF, and optionally IGES and DSTV files. This flexibility allows entire plates to be optimised after nesting including bridging, tabbing and stitch-cutting. FastNEST supports all secondary processes including, drilling and tapping, all marking processes including text marking. Multiple primary process are supported such as, mixed Oxy-fuel and Plasma cutting.
FastNEST® can nest into standard stock plates or optionally any remnant shape. Further options allow for remnant nesting and tracking with FastTRACK®.

Automatic Collision & Overlap Avoidance HELPS PREVENT EXPENSIVE CUTTING MISTAKES!
A recent FastCAM innovation has been the development of collision checking in both FastNEST® and FastPLOT™ . The idea is to replace the current visual checks for interference with computer based checks. This is especially important in big and complex nests where even with the best efforts, a small overlap can be missed in what is visual checking and an overlap will ruin at least two parts. A simple bumped part can produce an expensive mistake in processing. Collision Avoidance will have the same role as spelling and grammar checks in word processing in preventing mistakes reaching production. It’s easy to make this new technology part of your Quality Control!

FastNEST is usually 'bundled' with the FastCAM System however it can also be purchased as a standalone program.

FastNEST is fully compatible with other FastCAM products such as FastCAM, FastPLOT, FastTRACK, FastCOPY and FastSHAPES.
