FastCAM® BevelTM is now available for Kinetics and ESAB (EIA and ESSI)controllers and Hypertherm Automation Voyager III based machines in EIA although it is designed as a Universal Programming System.

FastCAM® BevelTM is built on the FastCAM® NC Programming System, sold worldwide. If you already have a FastCAM® System you simply purchase an upgrade.
As for the required skill level, if you can use FastCAM®, you can use FastCAM® BevelTM. No additional training or expertise is needed. From the FastCAM user's perspective, nothing is changed. All of the complexities of programming are hidden from the operator. To add a bevel of 1, 2 or 3 passes, there is only the need to fill out the bevel form. The programmer nests the CAM files, which look identical to the DXF but contain the additional bevel information. Additional problems like colliding bevels are fully accomodated with true shape nesting functions as usual.
So as nesting and programming is unchanged, there is nothing more to learn!
Note that in talking about FastCAM® BevelTM, we use the term 3-Pass to distinguish it from perhaps thirty years of angle cutting,marketed by others as Bevel cutting when they are really 1-Pass chamfering systems. Unlike all other systems, FastCAM® BevelTM allows for a non 90 degree dihedral and the root gap.
The technology is totally NC independent which means that engineers can be offered the ability to apply the weld preparation they need to their DXF parts prior to production (using the FastCAM® BevelTM editor which is sold separately). The system allows for up to 6 different types of standard incoming drawing views for 2D profiles.
We have also used our new 3-Pass Bevel Technology in FastSHAPES® for heavy plate development to include generation of the desired dihedral. While these were previously marked on the plate for semi manual edge preparation, we can now directly cut with a single oxy or plasma torch and even make three passes to get the grooves ready at the desired angles relative to the dihedral. Grooves are added in FastCAM.
We are also busy in ground breaking work on preparation of complex bevels for pipe cutters of up to 6 axes and multi pass production of weld ready parts on single torch plate cutting machines.
